To design a series of posters with typographically focused puns to lift the spirits of fellow designers.
Jeppe Hein
Danish artist Jeppe Hein creates such fun installations: from kaleidoscope telescopes to giant water pavilions, his work is made to touch, experience and enjoy. With much of the same appeal as the 102-foot slide at the New Museum earlier this year, his pieces really speak to my inner child and I clap my hands for such Rejuvenalia in the art world! Yes please, let’s always play on the art! Throughout his body of work, Hein has a penchant for working with benches and powder-coated galvanized steel (Modified Social Benches 1-10, Modified Social Benches A-K, Modified Social Benches L-U, etc.) but his Loop Bench for Art Basel 2006 in Liverpool is my favorite. The benchmark, if you will.






Taking place in England the owners of the yard slowly kept adding sections to the contraption so when the squirrel learned one section and got the nuts, they’d add another section. It took over 2 weeks to get to the final product you see in the video.
